Respecting the culture and tradition
The exposure visit to Bhujung in the Annapurna Conservation Area was very impactful in order to change the mindset of the local communities from the RSDP project area. The participants of the exposure visit were able to observe the team work and its impact in Bhujung. They saw how active the women's group of Bhujung was in maintaining the health and hygiene of the village. More importantly, the exposure visit gave a unique opportunity to realise the importance of preserving the culture and tradition which defines their identity and keeps village integrity. The immediate results of the exposure visit were regular village clean up, initiatives to construct toilets and wearing traditional attires during special functions.
