Overview of the Project
NCDC is implementing the five-year project entitled Reforestation in Sanishchare Danda, Sunaulo Bazar, Nilkantha Municipality Ward No. 4 of Dhading District, Nepal. The project commenced on 1 May 2019 and is expected to complete by December 2024. Individual donors from Germany have been supporting the project and is coordinated by GEO, Germany. In the context of reconstruction activities following the earthquakes of April 2015, the increased demand for wood has depleted wood resources in the country. The Ministry of Forests and Environment of Nepal has announced 2019-2020 as a 'Year of Plantation'. Considering the announcement, NCDC planned to reforest barren land areas in Sanishchare Dada, Sunaula Bazaar, Dhading District. The project will reforest up to 35 hectares of barren land by planting 50,000 tree seedlings of different species.
